🍎 ‘Self-Care Routines’
These are comprehensive, step-by-step guides that tackle a different routine, each aimed at helping you to introduce and benefit from a well-tested, effective intervention. Some are quick, one-step routines, and some are more in-depth protocols. All include the why, what, how of each remedy. All provide you with clear and concise explanation of what the remedy is intended to achieve, over what period of time, and what to expect. I also explain clearly who they are designed for and why they should contemplate adding them to their health and wellness repertoire.
For example, I share my best recommendations to reduce intestinal gas, improve your iron status, expand your microbiome diversity, introduce turmeric into your diet, tackle bowel urgency, or find and replace your trigger foods. I share ways for you to carefully introduce essential foods into your diet. Or best practices for managing a fast-paced, modern life while tending to the delicate organ that is your gut.
I offer hope. I offer a pathway forward. I help you in your journey for optimal gut health and overall well-being.
Where do these routines come from? I developed these optimized routines from the years of experience I gained working with patients, researching the various ideas and solutions using my science training, and also from my own journey as a patient to health (see below).

Who Are My Subscribers
My subscribers are individuals who are concerned with their health. Their gut symptoms have impacted their daily routines. They are experiencing a diminished quality of life. They are missing out on things they enjoy in their lives.
They may have made certain changes to their foods, their supplements, and overall routine. But have not been satisfied with their progress. Some have landed in a worse place. They are miserable. They are ready to make change.
What they miss is good guidance from a trusted source. Subscribing to my newsletter gives them the remedies, the routines, and the learnings they need to break through their challenges.
A key focus of my newsletter is to provide you with the tools you need to overcome your gut condition. I’ll cover everything from common bloating and discomfort to infections that hit the gut hard, to IBS, bacterial overgrowth, and more severe conditions such as celiac disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

About Me
My passion - I am driven to discover, develop, and share simple and effective remedies that have helped people just like you find true gut health, optimize their nutrition, and enjoy a happy and balanced lifestyle.
My name is Ali Arjomand. I am a scientist (PhD Nutrition), turned health practitioner, turned health advocate. I am based near Seattle, Washington, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States.
My career spans over 20 years and includes a wide range of impactful activities, including designing and performing clinical research, developing new diagnostic tests, launching new companies, and bringing new innovations to life. All along, my aim has been to help patients live healthier, happier lives. You can read more on my LinkedIn profile here.
I am also a patient. In 2001, I was diagnosed with a severe form Crohn’s disease. For the first 16 years of my disease journey, I relied on my medical doctors to drive my care, using the best tools the health system had to offer. But after two small intestinal resections, and undergoing treatment with every approved drug, I found myself hospitalized each year, struggling to maintain even the most basic aspects of a good life.
That all changed in 2017 when I hit a dead end with my care. That’s when I ran out of all options and was facing the possibility of trying experimental medications. I knew that’s not where I wanted to go.
I jumped into action, and for the first time, took charge of my entire recovery strategy. I tapped into my PhD training in nutrition to reboot my entire dietary pattern. Remarkably, and very quickly, my symptoms disappeared, and within months I reached stable remission. I have maintained this stable remission to this day without surprises, hospitalizations or use medications or therapeutics.
I captured my journey using only objective lab measurements, colonoscopies, and imagining methods. I published my personal case history in a peer-reviewed journal you can download here.
What I learned from this experience was astonishing. But it was also not surprising. Making smart, appropriate, and targeted changes to one’s diet, nutrition, and lifestyle can indeed help overcome even the most devastating health concerns.
I had my calling. I had to share my learnings with other patients, who like me, struggled to find good health with what was offered to them by the standard health system.
In 2017, I launched Modulla Health, a virtual health & wellness clinic focused entirely on overcoming gut health challenges that impact my client’s daily routines and quality of life.
I have personally supervised and guided the care of hundreds of amazing individuals using science-backed approaches, real-world experience, and high-touch personalized engagements. Each of these individuals was striving to regain their health and quality of life. Each of them was struggling with a gut condition, ranging from Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, SIBO, celiac disease, C Diff infections, and other gut dysfunctions.
I now bring the learnings and experiences I generated in my clinical role to this publication.
Why I Created Health Notes
It’s clear that 1-on-1 clinical support and consulting with individuals is highly effective and impactful. However, offering this level of support limits the number of patients I can support at any one time. Read about my Concierge Care Clinic and my model of direct, 1-on-1 support here.
The need is great. There are so many of people. They are motivated to do the right thing to reach better health.
What do people tend to do? They look information themselves. The internet offers every remedy and solution for every imaginable ailment.
Some of the information is good and valid.
Some of it is useless and ineffective.
And some of it is downright dangerous.
Let me help you navigate through the maze. Put aside the click-bait articles. Bypass the ad-trackers. Skip the sensationalistic articles. You should not be burdened with all this information overload.
Let me help you to focus on the things that matter.
Start with my ‘Self-Care Routines’
There is too much information out there. How is one supposed to navigate their healthy journey? And how do you this on your own when your medical doctor does not have the time, expertise, or resources to support you? Or is even ignorantly against these approaches?
That’s where my Self-Care Routines come in. I have created, tested, and optimized remedies you can implement to recover from your gut condition.
My newsletters describe what each remedy and each routine is intended to. I articulate why they are important, who they are for, how to implement them, what to expect, what to avoid, how long to do them, and when to move on.
I avoid science jargon. I keep them easy-to-understand and simple to implement.
Clearly, you don’t have to implement all the remedies I publish. That’s not the point. You can start with one remedy, one solution, one tip, and then move forward from there. I will guide and motivate you.
